Alaskans, and those of us who live year round on the Kenai Peninsula in particular, celebrate winter in diverse and distinctive ways through some truly original Winter Festivals.
From the Peninsula Winter Games here in the twin cities of Soldotna & Kenai, to the Polar Bear Jump Off in Seward and the Homer Winter Carnival, there is at least one if not several events to choose from each and every month of winter.
Christmas celebrations, with the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremonies, fireworks, bonfires, and parades are also very popular during the months of November & December.
Visit the pages below for specific information on festivals in each of the Kenai Peninsula cities, as well as some of the other major winter festivals statewide.
Winter in Alaska is BEAUTIFUL, so get out there and enjoy it!!
