Crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, these gingersnaps please everyone in the family!


2 1/4 C Flour
2 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Ginger
1/2 tsp Ground cloves
1/4 tsp Salt
1 C Packed brown sugar
3/4 C Crisco
1/4 C Molasses
1 Egg


Combine dry ingredients.  Cream together wet ingredients. Mix dry ingredients into wet well.  Shape dough into one inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.  Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or just until set.  Let set on cookie sheet for 1 or 2 minutes, cool on wire racks.  Then pour a tall glass of milk because one cookie is never enough!
