"Chocolate Easter Bunnies"
I'm not exaggerating one bit, when I tell you that right now in the city of Bern, Switzerland every bakery, every chocolate shop window, every department store, and even the grocery stores have filled their window displays with the most incredible variety of chocofied easter bunnies, easter eggs, ducks, chicks, and other assorted creations I have ever seen in my life! In every sense of the word it is overwhelming. So many choices, so many prices, so many calories, so much chocolate. I know, I know, this is Switzerland, but even for Switzerland it is amazing. Enjoy the pics, and more to come over the days counting down to Easter. Oh, yeah, in case you ever come to Switzerland for Lent, I suggest NOT giving up chocolate!
On the other hand, my dinner was chocolate free. Thai Chicken Coconut soup, more of that delicious Nüsslisalat (for fear that it will go out of season, though I really have no clue), and some homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu. Why? I have no idea, but I had two chicken breast halves, and its hard to cook for one person when you're used to cooking for 6 to 60, and I had ham, and I of course had cheese, really good Bratkäse, a similar to Raclette, that our friend Ihsan gave to me in Melchsee-Frutt....merci vielmals Ihsan, schmecht great!
Here are some pics from town, on the Nydeggbrücke (wow, I spelled that without looking it up!) that connects old town main street with the Bear Garden and Old Tram Depot Brewery, also the location of the Brasserie Bärengraben where I ate dinner my first evening in Switzerland.
