"Schnee und Spargel"

It's that time of year, like in Alaska, when the snow doesn't know that it's spring, and the Asparagus starts showing up in the market.  Urs, in the photo down below) doesn't really want any more snow, he wants to go fishing.  But in Alaska that happens at the end of April, not the end of March.  I stopped at the Migros grocery on the way home tonight, then by the Metzgerei (the local butcher for you Metzgers!) and I had thought about taking an evening walk down by the Aare, but the snow started again, mixed with cold rain, and I decided to head back to the flat and cook some comfort food.  Rind Gschnätzteltes mit Kartoffeln und frische Spargel, or beef with mushrooms, onions, garlic and gravy over mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus.  The first meal I've cooked at home other than breakfast or salad.  War lecher.  It hit the spot!  After a day of on and off snow and noticeably cooler temperatures, and some intense spreadsheet work and system testing at the office, it was nice to have an evening in. :)

Heute war genau wie im Alaska, der Schnee wisst nicht dass Frühling hat schon gekommen, und die Spargel kommt am Markt.  Urs (der Unten) möchtet gern kein mehr Schnee, er liebte ga Fische! Aber in Alaska das soll am Ende April, nicht am Ende März so sein.  Ich war Heute Abend bei Migros, dann die Metzgerei vorbei, und ich hab gedacht dass vielleicht mache ich ein Abendspazieren neben der Aare, aber kommt wieder Schnee und kälte Regen, so zuruck nach meinem Flat, etwas komfortische Essen zu machen.  Rind Gschnätzteltes mit Kartoffeln und frische Spargel, das ersten Kochen in der Schweiz bei mir, ausser Frühstuck und Salat!  War lecher.  Nach einem Fröstigen SchneeTag, und schwerig Arbeit mit system testing und spreadhseets, es war gut zu Hause zu sein.
